Repairs
Stuff happens. That’s my guitar in the photo, I’ll show it to you. Whether it's a bridge that's pulling up, a headstock snapped clean off, or a crack you've been ignoring for years, I can almost certainly save your instrument. And probably for less than you might imagine.
Typically $150-300 — Estimates are always free.
My Approach
I'll walk you through my diagnosis, explain the options, and give you my recommendations. Your comfort level is important, because every repair carries a certain amount of risk. Also, I want you to be satisfied with the goals, the cost, and the timeline.
Common Repairs:
🪵 Bridge Reglue
Acoustic guitar bridges lift over time due to humidity cycles, string tension, and age. Left unaddressed, it only gets worse. Plus, it’s dangerous! And, it’s not an easy DIY. I’ve got a bunch special equipment and experience. Leave it to me.
💀 Headstock Breaks
A broken headstock feels like a death sentence, but most breaks are actually very repairable. In fact, the glue ends up being stronger than the wood. In most cases you wont feel much of anything, but it will leave a scar. A perfect finish repair is typically cost prohibitive. But that’s ok, because scars are cool.
⚡️ Cracks (Top, Back, Sides)
Cracks sap your tone by absorbing resonance. They are also a liability, always threatening to grow. Stability is the #1 concern, both the structure and finish. Much like headstocks, I can usually make a crack disappear to the fingers, but not always to the eyes. At least, not affordably. But guitars earn their scars, it gives them character.
🔩 Nut & Saddle Replacement
Bone nuts and saddles are one of the best upgrades you can make to any guitar. If the animal product bothers you, there are “vegan” synthetic bone alternatives that are just as good. I cut and fit them by hand to your specific instrument — improving tone, tuning stability, and playability in one shot. I also repair and replace nuts and saddles that break.
🔧 Other Structural Repairs
Braces, binding, tuner replacement, strap button issues, pick guard problems — if something is structurally wrong with your instrument, let's talk. Estimates are always free, and I'll always give you a straight answer about what's actually worth fixing.
