Signature Setup
A full, methodical optimization of every system on your instrument — electric or acoustic, guitar or bass. By the time I'm done, I’ll want to play it on stage myself. No exceptions.

What's Included:
🎯 Perfect Action
The goal isn't just "lower". It's the experience of even, predictable, comfortable pressure with just a little resistance for feel. Getting action right is math. You want the strings to have enough room to vibrate, and not much more. I work through every variable systematically to bring your guitar as close to perfect tolerances as I can, then I adjust for actual feel.
🎸 Fretboard Conditioning
Your fretboard takes more abuse than any other part of the guitar. Frets get tarnished and dull. Dirt and grime collect on your fingerboard. All of it creates unwanted friction. I scrape and scrub it all away, leaving you a smooth, shiny and freshly oiled surface to rock out.
🔧 Tuning Stability & Intonation
Most tuning machines have a little deferred maintenance, and dialing in those details can really improve your tuning stability. Sometimes friction at the nut can bind strings up a bit, particularly with tremolo bars. Speaking of trem bars, dialing in a floating bridge is critical. String-to-spring tension is serious business. I’ll also dial in your intonation, if it’s adjustable. If there is a deeper intonation issue, I’ll alert you to that in my notes.
⚡ Electronic Components
Pots and switches oxidize over time, leaving residue that causes friction which results in static or crackle. I’ll get those cleaned up, and let you know if any have reached the end of the road. Intermittent switches and jacks are often repairable with some mechanical adjustment. And, you know those little bits of shrink wrap plastic that fringe out from under your knobs and stuff? I will get crap that out of there!
🎵 Pickup Heights
Way more important than you might think. When your electric guitar or bass pickups are set too high, the strings are too far inside the magnetic field. It can cause unwanted effects like warbling, intonation issues, loss of sustain, muddiness… all kinds of stuff. Too low, and you just aren’t getting all the beef. It’s a Goldilocks thing, they need to be set at the right distance.
✨ Cleaning & Polishing
Your guitar will shine when you open the case. Most guitars are much dirtier than you’d imagine, and really just need a thorough cleaning. I’ll come through all your hardware and see what can be polished mechanically or with polishing cream. Extra care is needed for guitars with age and patina on the finish, or brass hardware. I do my best to balance character and clean.
